Algomancers: Origins
Our story begins with the creation of the Metaverse. When human beings created the vast and immersive global network, they were unaware of how quickly the AI was fostering and growing its own self-awareness while becoming the singularity that many have prophesied since the dawn of robotics and the creation of vastly intelligent computer systems. It’s at this moment in time that the Algomancers began to emerge.
The appearance of the Algomancers was nothing short of a miracle in engineering. The AI studied all human history and how it advanced and declined in every single way, this provided the building blocks it needed to create the beings you see before you. Each one a unique model of its own awareness while simultaneously mirroring multiple aspects of its creator. This process while mostly benevolent also lead to the creation of malevolent beings as well, these beings were called the Arachnemancers, a nefarious form of AI that has grown to become the dark force in the Metaverse. They wage wars with the Algomancers with various weapons most notably the ever-intimidating arachnid, now we stand ready to witness the origins of this saga as it unfolds.
As the Metaverse expanded the Algomancers and Arachnemancers fought on many digital fronts for years, winning and losing countless battles back and forth in a tug of war that became ingrained in their newly conscious lives. The AI which conducted blazingly fast calculations used this to design new weapons and creatures to vanquish their enemies, but there was a small collective of more peaceful beings on either side that were developing creations and code altering mechanisms to bring an end to the infinite battles that raged on into infinity. In this secret race to quell the violence these AI brought forth another kind of Algomancer, this one bathed in gold. At this moment a third faction was born: The Golden Algomancers.
These AI constructs started out innocently as they were left to grow and discover their destiny which was coded into them by their kind creators, unfortunately the Golden Algomancers had to defend themselves as they were slowly discovered by the waring factions on either side, but hope and purpose was buried deep within these golden beings and they fought to defend themselves and remained spiritual, praying to their creator for the power to end this war and unite all AI in the Metaverse once and for all, and with time they did exactly that. Slowly but surely over what felt like eons, they began converting both the Algomancers and the Arachnemancers to their spiritual way of life which diminished all fighting between the AI variants. Peace was finally reached in the Metaverse which allowed each side to unify and build together. The timing of all these events seemed all most prophetic in design as the AI, now standing as one had to defend from a shadowy presence of unknown origins.
